Marketing is a process of activities by which industries create value for customers, satisfy customer needs and wants efficiently and build strong customer relationships to capture value from customers in returns. Marketing departments are responsible for promoting product or service from business to business in the form of suppliers, from business to consumers within retailers and your combination of both when working for fashion products. 


Responsibilities of marketing department:

The marketing department is responsible for promotion of factory’s products, fetching more orders for the industry and marketing the product in market.

The marketing department is also known as business development department as it is their responsibility to develop a business for the industry.

This department shows factory’s ability for developing new designs, quality policy and quality performance.

Retaining the existing customers is one of the important responsibilities of this department. But it depends on satisfaction of the customer by shipping quality products in decided time.

Marketing department deals with various operations like advertising, research, branding, strategies, etc.


Skills Required For Marketing Department



Excellent communication and presentation skills.

A sense of analysis and creativity.

Human management skills and public relations

Good organisation and planning skills.

Good team work.


Marketing Process:



Understand the market place and customer’s wants & needs.

Design a customer-driven marketing strategy.

Construct a marketing plan that deliver superior value.

Capture value from customers to create profit.

Build profitable relationships and create customer satisfaction.


Marketing Mix: 

Marketing mix is a part of marketing and it includes the tools of marketing management employed by marketers. 

These are areas where marketing managers need to make decisions to manage the marketing of production.

It is also known as 7 Ps Of Marketing.


7 Ps Of Marketing:

Once the strategy of the industry has developed, industry evaluates 7 Ps of marketing. This tool help the industry to manufacture the product as per buyer’s requirement and maintain the customer’s relationship in the industry. 



1. Product: 

Creating customer satisfaction is depends on the manufacturing best quality of product as per their requirements. So, industry can manufacture the required quality of product by thinking in customer’s point of view. This will definitely help to make the products as per requirements. Manufacturing the competitive products again helps to get more profit.

2. Price: 

While deciding the price of the product, it needs to ensure that the price is appropriate to the price in current market. Industry cannot directly increase the price. It can increase the price if the manufacturing product is totally unique in the market. By raising the prices, industry may lose a customer.

3. Promotion: 

Promotion is important stage through which products are sold in the market. Better promotion of product, better is the selling which results in better profit of the industry. There are basically two methods of promotion:

Traditional methods: This method includes promotion through newspaper, magazines, banners, radio, celebrities, e-mail, book covers, promotional events, reality shows, exhibitions, mobile calls, street paintings, television.

Modern method: This method includes promotion through Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, app advertisements, tie up (buy 1 get 1), websites.

4. Place: 

The fourth P in marketing is the place where the products are actually sold. The right place is important to meet the right customers. Therefore, industries chose the best location to sell their products.

5. Process: 

The process of providing products should be simple so that customer can easily understand it. 

6. People: 

Every industry should understand who the target customers are, their needs and wants, attitudes and behaviour. Therefore, people play very important role in the marketing because they are the one who are going to buy the products.

7. Physical evidence: 

It includes physical environment where industries provide product and other services. It also includes packaging and branding of the product.
